This school project involved rebranding the music festival Iceland Airwaves, which takes place in Iceland in October. Throughout the process, I asked myself: "In cold, grey weather outside, how can we bring people together?" My approach to the project centered mainly on reminding people to simply enjoy the moment and reconnecting with the festival's original essence. People come in different shapes and colors, contributing to the colorful diversity of the world. However, what do we all share in common? The desire to dance and listen to music—to revel in the present moment.
The shapes derived from the typeface represent people of various shapes and forms. The concept behind this design is that these shapes react to sound and are incorporated into the background of each concert at the festival. This design aims to evoke a visceral response, encouraging people to dance and engage with the music.
